Buying/selling bitcoins through ATMs can sometimes be confusing as there are different types of bitcoin ATMs.
Here is an outline of the types of bitcoin ATMs available in the market:

Buying bitcoins with a Genesis1 bitcoin ATM
- Click “Buy Bitcoin”;
- Select a coin (e.g. bitcoin);
- Click the scan QR button;
- Scan the wallet QR (if you don’t have a wallet, select one here);
- Insert the money bills;
- Click “Done”;
- Take a printed receipt.
Selling Bitcoins with Genesis1 Bitcoin ATM
- Select the cash withdrawal option;
- Select bitcoin;
- Select the amount you want to withdraw;
- Send the bitcoins to the specified address with a QR code from your mobile wallet;
- Collect your cash.
Buying bitcoins with Lamassu Bitcoin ATM
- Scan your Bitcoin address (if you don’t have one, create one here);
- Insert fiat bills;
- Click the “Send Bitcoins” button.
Buy bitcoins using BitAccess Bitcoin ATM
- Click the Start button.
- Now enter your phone number and click on the “Continue” button;
- Enter the verification code sent to your cell phone number;
- Scan the QR code of the BTC address where you want to receive your BTCs;
- Enter the fiat bill and continue;
- Your coins will be sent to your BTC address.
Conclusion
Using a bitcoin ATM is an easy option if there is a bitcoin ATM near you.
Also keep in mind that some ATMs require you to scan your ID and may also ask for your phone number for KYC purposes. But this usually happens when you buy a large amount of bitcoins.
Some bitcoin ATMs even accept debit cards so you can withdraw cash if you need it when traveling to another country. This feature takes away the headache of exchanging currency while traveling abroad.
